Do you already play recorder or keyboard and fancy playing in a group and
learning more? Perhaps you have an instrument and want some help getting
started? If the answer to either of these questions is 'yes' then WMC
may have just the group for you.
Beginners
You could join the Glock Around the Clock group, where we play easy arrangements
of well-known tunes on hand chimes, glockenspiels and xylophones of all sizes.
You don't have to be able to read music to join in - we cater for a wide range
of age and ability!
Recorders
There are lots of opportunities for recorder players, with groups for
descant beginners and improvers, treble starters and a more advanced ensemble
including tenor and bass. Some of the larger recorders may be available for
loan.
More advanced recorder players could join the Folk group. Less experienced
players may join the Play Orchestra, or even something different like the Samba session.
Keyboards
We have a whole range of Keyboard groups, catering for new starters and also
more advanced players. Students are encouraged to bring their own keyboard
(including batteries!), although it may be possible to borrow one on the day.
We also use keyboards in our Play Orchestra; or you could do something
different, for example Afro drumming or Samba.
